Armenia

this is a state in the Caucasus, located on the border of Europe and Asia; former Soviet republic of the USSR. Armenia borders Georgia in the north, Azerbaijan in the east, Iran in the south, and Turkey in the west. The total length of the borders is 1570 km. Armenia is one of the oldest Christian countries, so there are many important religious monuments here. The most famous among them are the Greco-Roman temple of Garni and the Etchmiadzin Cathedral – the main temple of the Armenian Church built in the 4th century. A popular place of pilgrimage is the monastery of Khor Virap. It is located near Mount Ararat, which is an inactive volcano and is located in Turkey. The Armenian land keeps monuments, including those of the pre-Christian era: the ruins of Urartian cities, ancient Armenian capitals.

Traveling around the country through the number of holy places is like a pilgrimage – monasteries, temples, cloisters. The main sights of Armenia are located in the vicinity of Yerevan, one of the oldest cities on the planet. However, there is something to see beyond its borders: even in the most remote places you can find sights that take your breath away. Among the natural attractions of the country, one can note the mountain landscape (the beauty of Mount Ararat is unique – tourists still hope to see the remains of the biblical ark under their feet here) and the unique Lake Sevan (there are legends about its transparency, and the shores are decorated with the most beautiful man-made sights of different times ).

Climate

Armenia is located in the subtropics, but due to its mountainous nature, the climate here is more dry continental with hot summers (average temperature +25C) and cold winters (average temperature -6C). The maximum precipitation occurs in spring and early summer. Armenia is interesting in that the weather in different regions of Armenia is quite different. Closer to the highlands, the climate becomes more severe from dry subtropical and first becomes moderately warm, then moderate, then sharply continental (average January temperature is -14C, July +10C ). It is very sunny in Armenia in summer and autumn.

In winter, snow often falls, which in the middle and high mountains reaches a thickness of 30–100 cm and persists for a long time. The highest mountain peaks in Armenia are usually covered with snow all year round.

However, Armenia is equally beautiful in all seasons. In a relatively small area, one can meet a surprisingly diverse nature and weather; and spring, and summer, and autumn, and winter are saturated and pronounced. It is difficult to name the tourist season specifically, since the warm winter also creates favorable conditions for tours. The big advantage of Armenia is that throughout the tourist season our guests can enjoy organic and natural products.
